How batch generation works
Pick a content type, style one code the way you want them all to look, and hit Batch CSV under the code preview. Upload a CSV with a header row and one row per code, and Reticle renders every row with your styling and hands back a single ZIP of PNGs, named so you can match each file to its row. The whole run happens in your browser: nothing is uploaded, and there is no fee, quota, or watermark.
Preparing your CSV
Any spreadsheet app works: export from Excel, Google Sheets, or Numbers as CSV. The first row names your columns and the batch panel shows how they map onto the fields of the content type you picked. Quoted fields with embedded commas or line breaks are handled correctly, so real-world exports work without cleanup. For a worked example, see the guide to generating hundreds of QR codes from a CSV.
Every content type, not just links
Batches aren't limited to URLs. Generate a sheet of Wi-Fi codes for every access point, a vCard per employee, an event code per session, or a payment code per invoice: any content type the generator supports can be batched, with the same styling controls, logo included.
Static batches vs. bulk dynamic links
A static batch bakes each row's content into its image: free, private, and permanent. If you need codes you can edit after printing, Pro adds bulk dynamic links: the Import CSV button under My codes mints up to 100 dynamic links in one go, returns a ZIP with one PNG per link plus a results file numbered to match your spreadsheet, and every link stays repointable at any time. That's the difference that matters at scale: a typo in a static batch means reprinting, a typo in a dynamic batch means editing a destination.
Printing at scale
Before a big run, print one sample at final size and scan it with a real phone; Test scan in the generator is the quick pre-check. Keep codes at least 2 cm (about an inch) square, keep contrast strong, and leave a quiet margin around each code on label sheets.
Frequently asked questions
How many QR codes can I generate at once?
Hundreds in one run. Your browser does the rendering, so a very large batch simply takes a little longer; there is no per-batch fee, no daily quota, and no watermark on any of it.
Is bulk QR code generation really free?
Yes. Batch generation of static codes is free with full styling, every content type, and no watermark. The paid part is different: bulk dynamic links (codes you can repoint after printing) are part of Pro, up to 100 per import.
What does my CSV need to look like?
A header row, then one row per code. Quoted fields with embedded commas or line breaks are handled, so a spreadsheet exported from Excel or Google Sheets works as-is. The batch panel shows which columns map to which fields for the content type you picked.
Can each code have its own style?
A batch shares one style: the colors, shapes, logo, and frame you have set up apply to every row. For a different look, run another batch with a different style; each run is quick, so mixing styles across groups is easy.
Is my spreadsheet uploaded anywhere?
Not for static batches: the CSV is parsed and every code is rendered entirely in your browser, so your data never leaves your device. The one exception is a Pro bulk import of dynamic links, where each row's destination is stored in your account, because that is what lets the printed codes stay editable.
