How a Telegram QR code works
Telegram opens a chat, channel, group, or invite from a single link: https://t.me/ plus a username, a phone number, or an invite hash. A Telegram QR code simply encodes that link, so pointing a phone camera at your sticker, sign, or card opens the conversation in one tap. Reticle builds the link for you: type whichever you have, a username, a link, or a phone number, and the code is ready.
Username, phone number, or invite link
Type a username (with or without the @) and Reticle builds https://t.me/username. This is worth saying plainly because it surprises people: a public channel and a public group are addressed the exact same way a person is, by username, so the same field covers all three. Type a phone number in international format and Reticle builds the phone-based link instead. Or paste a private invite link straight from Telegram, either the t.me/+ shape or the older t.me/joinchat/ shape, and Reticle keeps just the part that matters.
The prefilled message
Add a message in the optional text box and Reticle percent-encodes it into the link automatically, so there is nothing to hand-encode yourself and no length cap to worry about. The chat opens with the message already typed in, ready for the person to send or edit. A private invite link is the one exception: it opens a join prompt rather than a chat, so Telegram has nowhere to put a prefilled message, and Reticle leaves the message off that link on purpose rather than building something that would not work.
Static or dynamic?
A static code bakes the t.me link into the image: free, private, permanent. If the target might change (a new account, a rotated invite link, moving a customer chat to a different team member), sign in and make it a dynamic link instead: the printed code encodes a short address you can repoint at any time, with scan counts included. Where Telegram codes earn their keep

Test before you print
Scan the finished code with a real phone before a print run: it should open the right chat, channel, group, or invite, and any prefilled message should read the way you typed it. What do I type into a Telegram QR code?
A username, a phone number, or a pasted t.me link. Reticle reads whichever one you type and builds the matching t.me address for you, so there is no link to construct by hand.
Does a public channel or group use the same field?
Yes. A public channel and a public group are addressed the same way a person is, by username, so type the channel's or group's username and the code opens it directly.
Can the chat start with a prefilled message?
