Everything a printed code should be able to do
Once a code is on a menu, a box, or a billboard, reprinting is the expensive part. Dynamic links move the decisions into your account instead.
Per-scan analytics
ProEvery scan recorded with approximate city, device, OS, and time, exportable to CSV. Free plans keep aggregate counts by day, device, and country.
Repoint any time
FreeChange where a printed code goes in seconds. 3 links free with unlimited scans; unlimited links on Pro.
Your domain on the code
ProScanners see your name, not ours, with custom endings you choose instead of a random slug.
A file behind the code
ProHost a PDF or image at the code itself and swap the file without reprinting. Menus, spec sheets, price lists.
replaced, same code
Smart routing
ProOne code, many destinations: route each scan by country, language, device platform, or time of day.
Link pages
ProA hosted page of up to 12 link buttons behind one code, editable any time. One QR for everything you do.
Made in your browser
Static codes are generated entirely on your device. Nothing is uploaded unless you create a dynamic link or host a file, and we say exactly what those store.
No scan-count paywall
Free dynamic links have unlimited scans and no expiry. A code you printed keeps working; we do not hold it hostage.
Data you can erase
Free plans keep aggregate counts only. Pro per-scan records are kept about 90 days, and you can export or delete them at any time.

How a Venmo QR code works
A Venmo QR code encodes a profile link: https://venmo.com/u/ plus your username. Scanning it opens your profile in the Venmo app, where the person taps Pay, or a Venmo web page if the app isn't installed. Reticle builds that link from your username in the Payment picker in the Studio, so you never have to type or copy the URL yourself.
Setting an amount or a note
Add an amount (and, for Venmo, a note) and Reticle folds it into the link, so the app opens with those fields already filled in. Treat that prefill as a convenience, not a guarantee: Venmo controls how its app reads those parameters and could change the behavior, but the profile link itself keeps working either way.
Cash App and PayPal
The same picker covers Cash App (https://cash.app/$yourcashtag) and PayPal (https://paypal.me/yourname), each with an optional amount. Choose the app in the Studio and Reticle builds the matching link, so one tool covers whichever payment app your customers already use.
Where to use it
Tip jars, farmers-market tables, craft fair booths, fundraiser and donation tables, service invoices and receipts, or a simple "pay what you like" sign. Add a frame with a prompt like "Scan to tip" so people know what the code is for before they even open their camera.
Printing tips
Print at least two centimeters across, keep strong contrast between the code and its background, leave the quiet zone (the blank border) untouched, and test the finished print with a real phone before handing out a whole stack.
Frequently asked questions
What does a Venmo QR code actually encode?
A link to your Venmo profile, https://venmo.com/u/ followed by your username, with an optional amount and note added as parameters. Scanning it opens your profile in the Venmo app, where the person taps Pay. Reticle builds the link from your username, so you never have to type it.
Can I set the amount in advance?
You can add one. Reticle puts the amount (and, for Venmo, a note) into the link, and the Venmo app fills it in when it opens your profile. Treat the prefill as a convenience rather than a guarantee: Venmo controls how its app reads those parameters, and the profile link itself keeps working regardless.
Does it work for Cash App and PayPal too?
Yes. Choose Cash App to encode https://cash.app/$yourcashtag, or PayPal to encode https://paypal.me/yourname, each with an optional amount. All three open the matching app when it is installed and a web page otherwise.
Is this the same as the QR code inside the Venmo app?
No, and that is the point. The code inside the app is Venmo's own design, in Venmo's colors, and you can only screenshot it. A Reticle code encodes the same profile link but you choose the colors, shape, and logo, and download it as a print-ready PNG, SVG, JPEG, or PDF for a tip jar, table sign, or invoice.
Is my username or anything else uploaded?
Not for a static code: it is generated entirely in your browser and the link lives only in the image you download. A dynamic link is the one exception you opt into: its destination is stored so the short link can forward scanners to it, and you can repoint it later without reprinting.
